Ice, snow, and more snow

We have really been hit with snow and ice over the past week. Monday, January 31st, the rain came down as it quickly turned to an icy substance that clung to the windows and roads making coming home from work extremely slow and dangerous.
We met at a local rest. for dinner and came out to our cars encapsulated in ice. By the next morning, the entire city was paralyzed from the icy cover that continued to fall. School was canceled and even the malls closed. A travel advisory encouraged everyone to stay home. By Wednesday, the ice was four inches thick on cars, streets, driveways and stairs, making it extremely difficult to get out.
We now are not only still trying to dig out from the ice but have another 4-5 inches of snow that fell today. Tomorrow, more is expected. The ice has created ice dams on the roof at school and 18 of our classrooms as well as my office and the computer lab have a constant flow of water dripping down in the room and along the walls.
Four days of no school this week. It will be interesting to see what Monday brings. We certainly have enjoyed the time together!
